Mystic Universe will take you on a journey that will open your eyes and envelope you through “interactive art installations, experiential attractions…”. It features over 6700 sq. ft. of otherworldly dimensions meshed with technology that will make your travel beyond time. Some featured shows include Beyond Nirvana, Yogi’s Journey, Fractal Time, Luminokaya Angkor Wat, and Samskara.
Without giving away too many surprises, you will get to step back in time and get into ancient civilizations, see historical wonders and reconnect to the earth, water, wind, fire, and beyond.

Baby Story Time takes place every Saturday morning, timed just suitable for babies and toddlers. Newer and parents of toddlers might think that the last place they can go (with baby) is the library. Here’s an event just for you. Get yourself out of the house, socialize in a child-focused space and help develop your child’s literacy and much more at the Downey library.
Every Saturday, 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM, this particular baby hour occurs at the Downey Library. 11121 Brookshire Avenue Downey, CA, 90241. Upcoming dates include January 22nd, 29th, 2022.
Again, Macaroni and cheese and chicken nuggets say no young child practically ever. The Downey Library has another beautiful program for 3-5-year-old children. No registration is required for the cooking classes, a big bonus if someone ends up having a meltdown in the morning.
Expand your child’s palate, engage their curiosity while also helping them learn math skills. Roll up their sleeves, learn new recipes and have some fun in the kitchen. Maybe your little one will discover a new favorite which you can then prepare together at home.

This year is still fresh, and one of the largest and culturally rich celebrations is coming up soon. 2022 is the year of the Tiger (Water Tiger) in the Chinese zodiac. Chinese Lunar New year falls on February 1, 2022. So if you were born in “2022, 2010, 1998, 1986, 1974, 1962, 1950, and 1938”, then this is your year!
Stevie Wonder, Leonardo DiCaprio, Lady Gaga, and Queen Elizabeth II were all born in the Tiger year. There are dozens of Lunar New Year celebrations around Los Angeles; a few stand out.
Since the 1980s, The Golden Dragon Parade in Chinatown, an annual tradition, epic, colorful and diverse celebration. A unique family-friendly festival filled with a vibrant parade, floats, marching bands, entertainment, and cultural groups. The parade draws approximately 110,000 spectators annually and is the official Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles Lunar New Year event. Sunday, January 30, 1:00 – 3:30 PM.
